Man wird ins tägliche Geschehen miteinbezogen, daher lernt man viel über die Mentalität. Wir waren auch zur Geburtstagsfeier von Sarath eingeladen. Alle Familienmitglieder und Freunde waren sehr lieb und immer freundlich.”

“As the name suggests the place was indeed serene and peaceful. Located amidst lush green of Hikkaduwa this place is exactly as described. Mr. Kavindu took good care of us and welcomed us not with some sugary drink but traditional coconut water! The place is ideal for digital nomad work and the internet was good enough to do serious work. I also had a dialog sim as a backup and the signal was good as well at this particular place. The beach road is 5 minutes away with a Tuktuk. The garden is also well maintained and we enjoyed watering the plants. Overall I recommend this place if you’re looking to disconnect yet have access to the bustling Hikkaduwa beach.”

"Magnificent villa, has everything you need. The owners of the villa are wonderful and helpful people😊They live nearby and can quickly help if you need it. I arrived at 11 pm, they checked me in without any problems and fed me scrambled eggs. There is a lake nearby, 2 minutes from the villa you can rent a kayak and have a wonderful time exploring the nature. The ocean is a 40-minute walk away, as are all the shops. Secluded, quiet place, lots of birds in the garden. I was very pleased with the visit ❤️“

"We stayed at the Birdsong Villa for a total of 6 weeks and decided to return at the end of our Sri Lanka trip. We felt at home from day one. Special thanks goes to the host family - it was the daily contact with them that made our stay truly special. The hospitality and support went far beyond the norm. We loved the activities organized by the hosts, such as a barbeque evening, kayaking in the lagoon, or a tour further inland, where we could swim in a freshwater spring. The villa itself has everything you need for a long term stay, is very private, surrounded by a beautiful green garden and located in a small village apart from the tourist crowds and busy areas. The option of renting a scooter at a reasonable price gave us a lot of flexibility to explore different places and beaches. In the end, we can definitely say that we will not only return to Birdsong Villa, but to friends. Tip: Be sure to book the Sri Lankan breakfast, which is freshly prepared by the mother and a daily treat!“
